Fall banner

It's fall ya'all...

I love decorating our home. It's always something I have enjoyed. Since Pinterest has become one of my favorite addictions for DIY ideas ..I find myself wanting to create so much more now then before. Are you addicted to pinterest as well? Why don't you follow me? Here's the link...http://www.pinterest.com/shayermis/boards/

Another thing I love? Burlap! Call me crazy but I think it's pretty awesome.

At a garage sale this past summer I purchased several burlap bags for a quarter. Yep, only 25 cents. Cheap I know. I'm a garge sale thrift sale junkie. =) who doesn't love a good bargin? SO, I cut some triangle shapes out of the burlap. I cut four of them.

I wasn't sure if I was going to use this cute greenish material
 Or the old black valances

But the green won. So, I simply cut out all the letters that I need to spell F A L L

Simple

And no project would be complete without a cute little helper. =)

Hot glue them together...

Add the cut letters to the burlap pendants

Have a cute little boy hold up the finished project ...that is a very important step! ha!

Dispaly it where ever you so wish in your home. This even makes a cute little gift for a grandma or an aunt.

And there you have it folks how to make a cute fall banner. I know it's real simple and people are literally creating  masterpieces on pinterst, but it's a start! and Kaden enjoyed this project with me. Mommy little boy time is precious and they learn to create!!! =)

Why don't you follow me on pinterst? I will follow back and together we can find more hardcore projects.

Riding the four wheelers

Another favorite for our family is

Four wheeling on the quads.
This is something our family has enjoyed for years!!!!

Kaden was finally allowed to drive this year. I still don't trust him riding all by himself because the quads are so big...but he loves being able to drive mom all over.
Trent is a beast on the trails. Riding four wheelers is like second nature to him just like football.

These trails are made for riding and that is what we love to do!

Lots of trails=lots of riding!

While riding four wheeler I love being out in God's nature and all that he so graciously blessed us with. And sometimes that does also include signs of badgers and bears. Trent showed me a few spots in the corn field where bears had tracked through the corn and knocked down lots of corn. That scares me so much.

Recently we had a bear hunter who harvested a bear from these very fields just a week or two ago. The cameras installed show several bears. I sure hope they have roamed to another field so we can return riding four wheeler.

Here are a few more pictures from a previous ride...

Do you see the deer in the field? It's a tiny spot in the tall weeds...we scared it as it was laying in the weeds.

Riding four wheeler=One happy boy!!!!

On Labor day weekend I believe, Trent and Grandpa took the quads up to some friends house and met my cousin Brad and his friends. They spent the day four wheeling on the trails up to the pipeline. I don't have pictures from that trip as it was so muddy  no one took a camera or used their phones for a camera. But- I will promise you they had lots of fun and returned extremely muddy!

Trent gave it two thumbs up and said let's do it again!
=)

Football Camp

We signed Kaden up for sports camp at Faith Baptist Church. They have really nice program. You can sign up for football or wrestling. Since it is football time we made the decision to sign Kaden up for football.
Kaden hiking to Micah

He really did enjoy it and learned a lot. I look forward to watching him play flag football this year. If you know us, you already know we are a football playing/loving family. I've noticed some improvements in his skills since camp-- when we toss the ball around in the back yard.

Back to school

It's that time of the year again!

Even though we enjoyed a wonderful summer these three boys were eager to return to school.

They are in 11th, 7th, and 1st grade. Where did the time go?
Excuse me let this momma grab a Kleenex, because
her boys are growing up. =(

Someone asked me if they get sick of the annual back to school pictures? Nope, they know what mom does every year. Why fuss? It wont make me give in anyway! ha!
This boy is so anxious to get to his room...I can barely catch up to him. =)

He found his desk
and is all ready for the day!!!

It is my prayer that they work to their full potential every day of the year and continue to enjoy learning through out the year. =)

Just a friendly reminder to help you get through your day. God is always here for us. Let's take the time to include him in our day.

Goodbye summer

So sad to see summer leave. I was blessed to be able to spend lots of time with the boys during the summer. We became quite the beach bums and enjoyed many dips in the pools. Since I am just beginning this blog I will give you a recap of our summer.

Grandpa & Kaden at 4th of July cookout
 we enjoyed lots of floating
Beach trips to the beach and parks
 more and more floating trips
 sun burns...
 Relaxing in the grass
enjoying nature from God. One of the many blessings he gave us

They were a little excited to go floating the next day.
